Neg.Or. police
chiefs reshuffled
BY JUANCHO GALLARDE

Mabinay chief of police Sr. Insp. Edilberto Deocades will swap posts with Bacong police station chief, Sr. Insp. Leopoldo Ijan, as part of the reshuffling of police chiefs in Negros Oriental.

Police provincial director, Sr. Supt. Edward Carranza, said Deocades had been performing well in Mabinay, but had stayed there for more than his allowable tour of duty.

Carranza has just been designated as full-pledged provincial commander after one year as officer-in-charge of the provincial command.

He had caused the relief of Guihulgan city police chief, Chief Insp. Errol Garchitorena, who is now assigned in Region 7; Canlaon City police chief Sr. Insp. Petronelli Gracia, and the officer-in-charge of the Bayawan city police station.

The new chief of police in Guihulngan is Sr. Insp. Alvin Futalan and Supt. James Arsenio Turbela of Canlaon City.

Carranza said the movement has the concurrence of the PNP regional commanders, Chief Supt. Marcelo Garbo.

Another movement of police station commanders is expected in June this year and in the local and national elections, to make sure the chiefs of police will be impartial in the enforcement of election laws, Carranza said.*JG
