in Canlaon strafing

A tricycle driver died, while six others were injured in vehicular accidents on Sunday and yesterday in Manapla, Ilog and Valladolid, Negros Occidental, police records show.

Cauayan resident Romeo Debulgado , 31, was killed on Sunday when his motorcycle plunged into a 20-foot ravine in Brgy. Dancalan, Ilog, town police chief Inspector Joshua Villasis said.

Debulgado who was on his way home to Brgy. Talacdan, Cauayan, reportedly lost control of his tricycle, and it fell into the ravine, police investigations showed.

chiefs reshuffled

Mabinay chief of police Sr. Insp. Edilberto Deocades will swap posts with Bacong police station chief, Sr. Insp. Leopoldo Ijan, as part of the reshuffling of police chiefs in Negros Oriental.

Police provincial director, Sr. Supt. Edward Carranza, said Deocades had been performing well in Mabinay, but had stayed there for more than his allowable tour of duty.

Carranza has just been designated as full-pledged provincial commander after one year as officer-in-charge of the provincial command.

PIA, PNA officers
join India trip

Writers from the Philippine Information Agency based in Dumaguete City and from the Philippine News Agency based in Manila, were among the 20 journalists from the Association of South East Asian Nations’ countries who visited India for a week, a PIA press release said.

Information officer 2 and regional news editor of PIA Rachelle Nessia and Lily Ramos of PNA, represented the Philippines at the ASEAN-India Media Exchange Program recently.

The program aims to promote better understanding of ASEAN-India relations, while improving connectivity between India and its Asian neighbors.
