The two colleges  bested 183 other squads in both the men and women divisions. This year’s event broke last year’s number of 171 squads which was won by Bago City College in all divisions.

Completing the men’s division were two Bago City College-B and A placing first and second runners-up respectively, while ITD/University of St. La Salle settled for third runner-up, the press release said.

In the women’s division, Team Prano of university of  USLS  settled for first runner-up honor; Team Girls placed second runner-up and USLS-COH M-IC was third runner-up.

The champions in each division received trophies and P3,000 gift certificates, the press release said.

Park Volleyball has been introduced in different schools nationwide as part of the ongoing sports development program of the Philippine Volleyball Federation  and the Philippine entry to the FIVB in the sports development projects.

The event is organized by Negros Occidental Volleyball Association  headed by former Philippine Volleyball Federation president Roger  Banzuela,  and sanctioned by PVF as the only existing Park Volley in the country.

The tournament is sponsored by University of St. La Salle, Varsity Sports Office, SHARE Outreach Program, PESAR, Negros Occidental Volleyball Association  and Negros Occidental Private Schools Sports, Cultural and Educational Association, the press release added.*PNA
