Police seize guns, shabu
BY GILBERT BAYORAN

A couple and their son were arrested by the police in a raid on their residence in Victorias City, Negros Occidental, Thursday night, that also yielded three homemade firearms and suspected shabu worth P70,000, the police said yesterday.

The joint anti-drug operations of the Intelligence Special Operations Group of NOPPO and the Victorias police led to the arrest of Joel de Asis, 53; his wife Annabel, 47; and son, Ian, 26.

The joint team, headed by Supt. Alexander Muñoz and SPO4 Norman Bravo, swooped down on the house of the De Asis at Lopez Subdivision in Brgy. 6, Victorias City, armed with a search warrant issued by Silay Regional Trial Court Judge Dyna Doll Chiongson-Trocio.

The raid resulted in the confiscation of six sachets of suspected shabu, with an estimated market value of P70,000, two homemade snub-nosed .38 caliber revolvers with eight rounds of ammunition, a homemade 12-gauge shotgun with five bullets, assorted shabu paraphernalia, four cellular phones, and P1,500 in cash, Muñoz said.

The raid was done in the presence of Brgy. Capt. Hermigilda de la Cruz.

The suspects are now detained at the lockup cell of the Victorias City police.*GPB
