BY GILBERT BAYORAN

A British national, who was arrested Wednesday for violation of RA 9262, or the Anti-Violence Against Women and Children Act, was freed yesterday from the Bago police jail, after posting bail, police desk officer SPO2 Jose Ma. Antonio Ramos said.

British national, Russel James Penman, 46, was apprehended by a joint team of Bago police and Station 8 police operatives, at Greenplains Subdivision in Brgy. Singcang, Bacolod City, by virtue of an arrest warrant issued by Judge Frances Guanzon for violation of RA 9262.

Guanzon recommended P80,000 bail for the release of Penman, who was freed from jail at about noontime yesterday.

A day earlier, policemen also apprehended Alberto Aguillon,33, in Brgy. San Juan, Binalbagan, by virtue of an arrest warrant issued by Judge Rolando Balgos for the crime of adultery.

Senior Inspector Albert Sy, Binalbagan police chief, said Balgos has recommended P12,000 as bail for Aguillon, who is now detained at the town police jail.*GPB
