Sagarbarria told
to lose 50 lbs

Dumaguete City Mayor Manuel Sagarbarria admitted yesterday that he was advised by his doctor to rest for three days because of high blood pressure, triggered by too much stress.

He added he was also told to lose at least 50 pounds, until December 2013.

The mayor clarified, however, that there is nothing to worry about because he is in perfect shape, and described himself as “stronger like a bull (sic)”.

Sagarbarria said he submitted himself to a medical checkup recently because he felt uncomfortable with his breathing, but assured that he did not feel anything seriously wrong.

His blood pressure during the check was 200/100, prompting his doctor to make him undergo further tests.

He underwent electrocardiography, a Tissue Doppler echocardiography and nuclear scanning for the heart, but all tests came out negative.*PNA
