`Funly Run’ to be
an annual event

The Citizens Alliance for Productive Movement is pushing to make the Funly Run marathon race in Bacolod City an annual event, a press release from the group said.

The running event, held recently in the city, had the 5-kilometer race as the centerpiece category which veteran runner Ryan Hulleza dominated.

For topping the event, Hulleza received a cash prize and a 3-day and 2-night stay for two at the 357 Hotel in Boracay.

Hulleza finished the 5-K race in 16 minutes and 36 seconds, while Joel Alcurin placed second with his time of 16:57. At third place was Kevin Serdina, who clocked 18:19.

In the ladies division, Stephanie Cadosale brought home the top prize after completing the 5-kilometer distance in 21 minutes and 43 seconds. Second placer was Jaydah May Lorega (23:34)and third place went to LyannDilema (23:55).

The organizers are expecting more runners to join the event next year with additional prizes to be given to the winners, the press release said.

Funly Run 2012 is a fund raising project of CAPM with the St. Vincent Home for the Elderly and the Holy Family Foundation of the Capuchin Sisters as beneficiaries.*
