Tourism forum slated in
Bacolod Nov. 22

The Society for Sustainable Tourism and Development, Inc. is holding the “Negros Occidental Environment and Sustainable Tourism Forum” November 22 to 23, at the L’Fisher Hotel in Bacolod City.

The event is aimed at bring together public and private stakeholders from the tourism sector, government regulatory agencies, resort-hotels, travel, transport, leisure and tourism related businesses, SMEs, service providers, real estate developers, investors, and non-government organizations. Environmental and outdoor groups, civic clubs, the academe, as well as concerned individuals are also expected, a press release from organizers said.

STTDI’s goal is to produce a comprehensive environmental conservation, social responsibility, sustainable tourism and development for the country in cooperation with its implementing partners and experts from Green Hotels, Zero Carbon Resorts and The Clean Blue.

Participants are expected to contribute to the protection of the environment, help mitigate the effects of climate change and espouse green practices, knowing that these eco-friendly habits begin with each person, the press release said.

The organizers are inviting concerned industry leaders, tourism and hospitality players, developers and investors, public officials, citizens to the event, the press release added.*
