Anti-trafficking law amended
BY MARICAR ARANAS

The passage of the amended version of the Anti-Trafficking in Person proposal in Congress was lauded by Rep. Henry Pryde Teves (Neg. Or., 3rd District) yesterday because the province is one of the sources of trafficked victims.

The amendatory proposal aims to strengthen the protection of the victims and provide heavier penalties for illegal recruiters. The old law states that the identity of the recruiter will not be divulged in public, and this is more disadvantageous to the victims, he said.

Teves also said he is planning to conduct a road show to spread information on the amendments.*MA
