Team Kolasa, a group of alumnae from St. Scholastica’s Academy-Bacolod, emerged as champion in the 5K Group Walk event in the recent “FUNny RUNners @ SUNrise” Fun Run organized by USLS-IS Batch 1987 and race director Franklin Echevarria, a press release from the group said.

Members of Team Kolasa were Jean Rivera, Lilia Villanueva, Menchie Tan, Maggie Jalandoni, Trish Golez, Salou Keuls, Mel Bascon, Angelie Millan, Karina Jugo, Anne Guerrero, Pamela Jalandoni, Gretchen Varela, Tintin Lim, Geovette Agustin and Nique Rivera.

The other members, who joined in the Fun Run were team director Christine Vargas, Chole Chua, Febe Malata, Nining Tinsay, Rose Lacson and Emily Lizares.

Giving support to the team during the race were their walking coach Jan Baroc; team marshals Therese Ledesma, Jarie Yulo, Elsie Gonzaga, and Enzo Vargas; and sisters Jing Ramirez and Janina Ascalon, the press release said.

Trish Jacinto Golez of SSA-B Batch 1977 topped the 5.64 kilometer walkers in the individual category, clocking in 39 minutes and 27 seconds .

Aside from the championship trophy and certificate of recognition, USLS-IS Batch 1987 president Fidel Henares and project head Rogelio Dejilla Jr., also presented a P10,000 check to the group.

Team Kolasa turned-over their prize money to the St. Scholastica’s Bacolod Alumnae Foundation, Inc. as donation for health projects of their alumnae foundation, the press release said.*
