Power rates down
P2.8, Ceneco says

The residential average rate for September 2012 billing is down by P2.3868 plus tax from the average residential rate of P10.80 per kWhr in August to P8.38 kWhr, the Central Negros Electric Cooperative, Inc. announced yesterday.

For residential customers consuming 100 kWhr, the downward price adjustment translates into P238.68 savings in their September 2012 bill, the CENECO press release said.

The reduction of electricity rates is due to the reduction in generation rate and normalization of power supply from the Korean Electric Power-Salcon Power Corporation and lower supply level purchased from the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market, it added.

Other factors are the low hourly price of the WESM for August 2012 due to the abundant contributions of hydro plants and corresponding decrease in the tax component, it said.

Those who have further inquiries may call CENECO at 435-3540 to 55, the press release added.*
