The Public Employment Service Office of Bacolod City has placed about 5,409 local and overseas jobs in July and August, its PESO manager, Moises de la Cruz, said yesterday.
De la Cruz said 5,409 applicants were hired for local jobs and 287 were signed up for overseas jobs through special recruitment activities at the PESO.
Business process outsourcing companies, like call centers, are the top employers, though many of them are operating outside Bacolod City. Other local jobs filled are those of security guards, office clerks, secretaries, and sales personnel, he added.
The overseas and local job placements were channeled through registered recruitment agencies like Concept, Global Expertise, PiscesInternational Placement, OML International, Gulf Horizon, STD Overseas, YWA Human Resources Corporation, Placewell International, Sony, and SkyCable, De la Cruz also said.
Among the overseas jobs filled were those of nurses, domestic helpers, welders, electricians, drivers, hotel workers, painters, caregivers, data entry operators, technicians, housekeepers, receptionists, pipefitters, waiters, service crews, mechanics, and sales and office clerks, he added.
Meanwhile, representatives of LV Universal Manpower Services Inc., will have initial interviews today until Friday at PESO.
They need hairstylists, hairdressers, manicurists, pedicurists, beauticians, massage therapist, nail technicians, and salon receptionists for Dubai, Qatar, Oman, and Bahrain.
GBMLT Manpower Services Inc., will also have final interviews at Business Inn for medical professionals bound for the Riyadh National Hospital, de la Cruz added. *LTG
