Sayson: I'm running for
VM with Leonardia
BY CHRYSEE SAMILLANO

Bacolod Councilor Jude Thaddeus Sayson yesterday confirmed that he is running as vice mayor of Mayor Evelio Leonardia in this year's election.

Earlier, Councilor Lyndon Caņa also declared his plans to run for vice mayor as an independent candidate.

Sayson said the Mayor personally asked him to be his vice mayor and he was also endorsed by their group to run for the position.

He said he had also been an independent candidate when he ran as barangay captain. If there is a need for him to take his oath under the Nationalist People's Coalition, to which the Mayor belongs, he said he is comfortable with the members of the party.

Sayson said he is a 100 percent sure of running as vice mayor of Leonardia. He assured the people that, if given a chance, he will continue the development plans of Leonardia and the City Council members who are allied with the Mayor.

Asked for his reaction to the plans of Caņa to also run for vice mayor, Sayson said "May the best man win."

We are just here to present ourselves to the people and the more candidates, the better, so the people will have a wider choice, he said.

Other probable candidates for vice mayor are Councilors Elmer Sy, Ana Marie Palermo, Al Victor Espino and former Bacolod police director Chief Supt. Vicente Ponteras.*CGS
