Alimon, Yanson ahead

Melot Alimon of Class '68 and Tata Yanson of Class '86 headed the top 10 bowlers of the 12th St. Joseph School - La Salle Alumni Bowling Tournament at the Lopue's East Bowling Center in Bacolod City.

Alimon led the men's division with 108.09 per game, while Yanson compiled 101.11 in the women's category.

The other competitors for the master's plum are Romulo Ramos, 107.39 (Class '81); Art Palo, 107.38 (Class '84); Elmer Libo-on, 104.67 (Class '78); Jun Lozada, 104.42 (Class '83); Jack Palermo, 104.18 (Class '78); Romeo Dellomes, 103.11 (Class '68); RaneloWingpo, 102.40 (Class '79); Nono Oyco, 101.45 (Class 79), and Mols Diaz, 101.43 (Class'86) in the mistaf department;

Lucia Calumba, 96.91 (Class '78); Ramonita Arinal, 95.38 (Class '84); Carlyn Santia, 95.10 (Class '84); Lalaine Membela, 94.67 (Class '83); Weena Magturo, 93.92 (Class '78); Mitchie Chua, 92.11 (Class '82); Leny Jupillo, 90.94 (Class '86); Milag Verano, 90.05 (Class 82), and Luchie Magtunao, 85.68 (Class '68) in the distaff bracket.

In the team competition, Class '78 is leading in the Class A division with 2,953 pinfalls followed by Class '86 with 2,950, Class '83, 2,947; Class '84, 2,883, and Class '68, 2,794.

Bracket B competitors are Class '79 with 2,760; Class '81, 2,721; Class '85, 2,611; Class '75, 2,572 and Class '82, 2,544.

Tournament commissioner Joselito Porras, of Class '82 said the battle for the master's crown in the individual contest is set on July 21 at 3 p.m.

Tournament record holders are Jun Lozada in the men's single and triple with 164 and 384, while Lucia Calumba in the women's corner with 145 and 343. Class '84 registered the team's single and triple records with 559 and 1,583, respectively.*HLG
