ALS opens in Siaton

Gov. Emilio Macias II said he supports the Alternative Learning System of the Department of Education-DepEd that opened Thursday at Sitio Balanan, Barangay Sandulot, Siaton, Negros Oriental.

The ALS is a training module designed for out-of-school participants particularly the young unemployed mothers.

The training in Siaton caters to participants from sitios Balanan, Upper Sandulot and Sandulot Proper, all in Barangay Sandulot. Macias told participants he will be putting up a facility where they can hold classes, at the parking area at the foot of Lake Balanan.

Meanwhile, the governor said DepEd should revive the practical arts subject for high school students, as a means if livelihood after they graduate.*MA
