Divine Mercy day

Churches in Bacolod City celebrated the Feast Day of Divine Mercy on April 15, while my family, friends and I heard mass at the Shrine of Divine Mercy, in Calumangan, Bago City.

Parish Priest Rolly Escubido started the Divine Mercy prayers at exactly 3 p.m. This was followed by a concelebrated mass, with Bacolod Bishop Vicente Navarra as main celebrator. Thousands of devotees from other dioceses attended the celebration wearing white dresses. Assisting the Bishop and parish priest were Frs. Belarmino Obaldo, Ireneo Gordoncillo, Jonathan Arrojo, and Mike Carreon.

In his homily, the Bishop emphasized the goodness of the Lord and that His mercy is forever. After the mass, a long procession was held around the church, headed by Fr. Rolly and devotees from the various chapters of the Divine Mercy. A late merienda was served to all in the spacious ground floor of the church.
