Trimaxi captures NFL crown

Trimaxi-Agro beat Real Negrense, 2-1, to capture the 2nd Conference title of the North Football League at the Talisay pitch, Sunday afternoon.

After a scoreless first half, Winston Valencia found his mark from the left flank and sent the ball into the net for a 1-0 lead at 49 th minute.

Trimaxi worked harder and earned several corners and free kicks. Their efforts paid off in the 71 st minute as Miguel Gonzales scored off a pass from a penalty kick for the equalizer.

Launching more attacks, Trimaxi kept Real's goalkeeper Bembem Paranpan busy as they had several more close attempts to score.

With Real's offense getting sloppy, Trimaxi managed to score on an own goal in the 74 th minute to win the championship match.

Meanwhile, Dynamic Builders FC blanked Ceres FC, 2-0 to secure the third place honors.

During the awarding ceremony, Patrick Martir of Trimaxi was named most valuable player; Louie Michael Casas of Ceres FC, best goalkeeper; Ramon Miguel Gonzales (Trimaxi), best defender; Winston Valencia (Real), best midfielder; Ali Go (Dynamic), best striker; and Luis Christian Clauor, most improved player. Silver Dragon FC received the Fair Play award.*
