Willtrade/Phoenix registers
4th win in BTTHS cagefest

Willtrade/Phoenix asserted its dominance over Avenue Suites with an emphatic 122–102 victory to register its fourth straight win and stay unbeaten in the Bacolod Tay Tung High School Alumni Basketball Tournament at the Po Hang Gym.

With its formidable frontliners led by Bong Lopez, Rommel Ting, Siopao Dechavez, and Chingge Grandeza, Willtrade/Phoenix outscored and out-rebounded Avenue Suites for an overwhelming 33-13 first quarter lead.

Avenue Suites tried to bounce back in the second quarter with big man Pete Barcelona and Antonio Wong combining for 25 points, but Willtrade/Phoenix countered with 27 points from the pooled efforts of Malvin Pineda, Jepoy Nieles, and Third Deloso for a 67-43 halftime advantage.

Terra Dolce, Ceres five
prevail in SJI cagefest

Terra Dolce/Jollibee 1990/91/92 pulled off a 90-75 victory over New Energy Mktg./Shakey's 2008/10/11, while Ceres Pasalubong 2006/07 cruised to an 87-67 win over Waterfull/Celcor 1993/94/95 in the 5th SJI Alumni Basketball Friendship Cup at the Msgr. John Liu Activity Center.

Alvin Dionela and Renz Mendoza combined for 21 points to push Ceres to a 27-14 opening quarter lead even as Julius Teruel scored 12 points for Waterfull.

Christian Castro bullied his way inside as he canned 11 points for Waterfull, but Ceres countered with Brian Coo and Raymund Lacson delivering seven points each to keep their advantage at halftime at 48-33.

Trimaxi captures NFL crown

Trimaxi-Agro beat Real Negrense, 2-1, to capture the 2nd Conference title of the North Football League at the Talisay pitch, Sunday afternoon.

After a scoreless first half, Winston Valencia found his mark from the left flank and sent the ball into the net for a 1-0 lead at 49 th minute.

Trimaxi worked harder and earned several corners and free kicks. Their efforts paid off in the 71 st minute as Miguel Gonzales scored off a pass from a penalty kick for the equalizer.
