Church  protest vs.
RH bill tomorrow
BY CARLA GOMEZ

The Diocese of Bacolod is calling on the faithful to join a procession that will start at the San Sebastian Cathedral at 4:30 p.m. tomorrow to pray for the non-passage of the reproductive health bill into law, Monsignor Felix Pasquin said yesterday.

The House of Representatives is expected to put the HR bill to a vote tomorrow, which, ironically, is the Feast of Our Lady Guadalupe, the patroness of the unborn, Pasquin said.

Assembly time for the procession is at 4 p.m., in front of the Cathedral, and expected to join are parishioners, members of the Couples for Christ, students of Catholic schools, pro-life advocates, the clergy and seminarians, among others, he said.

The procession will be followed by the burning of the effigy of DEATH, which stands for: D – Divorce, E – Euthanasia, A – Abortion, T – Total Population Control, and H – Homosexual Marriage, he added

A mass will then be held at 6 p.m. tomorrow at the San Sebastian Cathedral, Pasquin said.

Pasquin called on the faithful to persist in opposing the HR bill, which he called “anti-life”, and to continue praying, especially the Holy Rosary.

Everyone is invited to join in praying the Rosary on Monday and Tuesday after the 6 p.m. mass, he said.

Meanwhile, Catholic bishops will troop to the House of Representatives tomorrow as the congressmen try to put the “reproductive health” bill to a vote, the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines announced.*CPG
