rule GenSan tourney

The Lopue’s Table Tennis Association headed by their president  Leonito Lopue  topped in the 1st Kalilangan Open Table Tennis Tournament held at Robinsons, General Santos City, recently.

The team were champions in four out of five events, namely the Team Event, Boy’s 17 under, Boy’s 13 under and Girl’s 13 under, and bested teams from Makati City, Hua Ching Foundation of Cebu, Davao, Ormoc City, Zamboanga and host General Santos City.

The LOPTTA team composed of Isaias Seronio, John Paul Gubaton, Siegfred Tupas and Marell Lagunday defeated Hua Ching Foundation represented by National Team Member Richard Gonzales, Glendo Nayre and Jimboy Baring in the semis (2-0).

Transport , Green Dragons
to battle basketball tilt title

JSY Transport and Talisay City defeated their semifinal rivals Sunday to arrange a titular showdown for the Class A division title of the 12th Tan Kek Pin Memorial Basketball Cup at Po Hang Gym of Bacolod Tay Tung High School on Saturday, March 3.

Top seed JSY Transport needed only a win against University of Negros Occidental–Recoletos/Polvora’s Law Office, 74-63, to claim the first seat.

The Talisay City Green Dragons, on the other hand, surprised No. 2 team, University of St. La Salle-Nhoj’s in the semifinals, 104-99, also Sunday. Talisay lost to USLS-Nhoj’s in the elimination round.

Batch ’89 continues
to win in kegfest

Batch ’89 continues to win in the Bacolod City High School/BCNHS Pre-Alumni Bowling Tournament at the Super Lanes of the Goldenfield Commercial Complex in Bacolod City.

After six rounds of action, Batch ’89 is leading in the 17 teams with a total score of 8,907 pinfalls followed by Class ’74 with 8,721.

The Batch ’89 team, composed of sparkplug Albert “Nonoy” Hulguin, Maila Balayo, Noralyn Lamis, Benjie Bagayo and Evelyn Ladiona holds the record for the team’s highest single and triple with 557 and 1,574, respectively.
