Eye surgery screening on
BY CARLA GOMEZ

Screening of patients for free cataract surgery and other eye problems is ongoing at the Bacolod City Eye Center of the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City, Dr. Cherry Sy said yesterday.

The surgery and eye consultations will be conducted by doctors from Canada headed by Dr. Hugh Parsons who will be in Bacolod from February 13 to 17, she said.

The doctors will also attend to patients with retina problems, she added.

Patients who wish to avail of the services of the Canadian doctors may go to the Bacolod City Eye Clinic during office hours from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m., and tell the staff that they wish to undergo screening for the Dr. Hugh Parsons medical mission, Sy said.

Ideally, the mission will cater to patients who are indigent, she added.

Twenty doctors from Canada are arriving for the medical mission, Vicky Rodriguez, one of the organizers, said.*CPG
