Arnis grandmasters
to write IRR’s

BY JUANCHO GALLARDE

Arnis grandmasters all over the country invited to the crafting of the Implementing Rules and  Regulations of the Arnis law before its full implementation in April this year.

Arnis law author Rep. Pryde Henry Teves, Negros Oriental 3rd Dist.  said the crafting of the IRR will on February 10, in Makati sponsored by ex-Sen. Miguel Zubiri and himself.

Teves said this is in line with the promotion of arnis as a national martial arts sports.  The sports will be introduced in all schools nationwide, he added.

He said school children will already be taught its  basics and will to choose its expertise or style, “Dose Pares,” “Balintawak,” or “Caballero,” among others.

Teves is expected to bring grandmaster Ike Villaflores of Dumaguete City and said he hope arnis will become an Olympic sports someday.*JG
