NOPSSCEA hopes to join
next year's nat'l PRISAA

After opting not to join the national Private Schools Athletic Association competition in the past two years, the Negros Occidental Private School Sports, Cultural and Educational Association might join the national games next year in Lingayen, Pangasinan, but nothing is final yet NOPSSCEA sports committee chairman Anthony Carlo Agustin said.

Consultations and deliberation will be made before an official announcement is made, Agustin said.

In a meeting presided over by PRISAA national chairman Emmanuel Angeles, held Friday at the John B. Lacson Maritime University Foundation in Iloilo City, Agustin sent WNU's Kim Dumdum to represent him.

Atlantic turns back JK
in Fil-Sino basketball tilt

Atlantic Auto Parts survived a fourth quarter rally from Johann Kendrick to get away with a 96-83 win and share leadership honors with Joshbianc Motors at 2-0 in the Fil-Sino All Asian Countertrade 2nd Conference Inter-Color Basketball Tournament, Monday night, at Tay Tung High School Po Hang Gym.

Facing a 15-point deficit going into the payoff quarter, Johann Kendrick's gunners Biboy Yap and Kirell Brahndon Montalbo conspired to cut the lead to seven points, but Atantic's John Montemayor and Johnnyson Yu knocked in 10 points each to fend off the rally.

JK made a last ditch effort anew as they drew closer to five points, but Montalbo was forced to sit out the rest of the game after suffering from a cramp.
