Stop Banago port work
or we will sue - Bredco

If the Department of Transportation and Communication fails to stop the development project at the Banago port, the Bacolod Real Estate Development Corp. port will take legal actions against it, BREDCO legal counsel Jack Maalat, said yesterday.

BREDCO president Simplicio Palanca in his letter dated July 9, to DOTC Secretary Manuel Roxas, had asked that the development project at the Banago port be stopped.

Palanca said Bacolod City already has a port that is professionally managed by BREDCO, and the existence of two ports in the city will only succeed in them killing each other.moremoremore

President Benigno Aquino III has appointed six new judges for Bacolod and Negros Occidental.

Appointed to the Bacolod Regional Trial Court are Judge Raymond Joseph Javier for Branch 52, and Judge Eduardo Sayson for Branch 54, Justin Gatuslao of the Presidential Communications Development, and Strategic Planning Office, told the DAILY STAR.

Also appointed to the Municpal Trial Court in Cities are Judge Karen Joy Tan Gaston – Bacolod Branch 6, Judge Montano Medel Jr. – Bacolod Branch 2, Judge Joanne Frances Gequillana Nifras - Cadiz City and Judge Eunice Tan Cuansing - Silay City, he added.moremoremore

DAR distributes land in south

Agrarian Reform Secretary Virgilio de los Reyes yesterday turned over certificates of land ownership awards to 100 farmer-beneficiaries from three areas in southern Negros at Brgy. Carabalan, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental.

The farmer beneficiaries are from Kabankalan City, Himamaylan City, and Binalbagan whose land areas totaled 97.1636 hectares, agrarian reform records show.

Florentino Siladan, Provincial Agrarian Reform Officer, said DAR will also turn over CLOAs to 33 ARBs of La Castellana City and Moises Padilla with a total land area of 28.5420 has. today, while 69 ARBs of Bago City and Pontevedra will receive their CLOAs on July 25 with 74.8394 has.moremoremore
