The Department of Budget and Management said yesterday it does not hold raffle draws, promos, or similar contests via the Short Message Service, its press release said.

It said it does not engage in any commercial or promotional activities, nor does it contact individual members of the public via SMS.

It advised the public to disregard text messages purportedly sent by the DBM and other government departments and agencies and is urging scam victims or SMS recipients to report these incidents to the Department of Trade and Industry, and the National Bureau of Investigation, so proper criminal action can be taken against the perpetrators, the press release added.*
