The Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod approved yesterday the request ofFrank Carbon, president of the Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce and Industry, to extend the deadline of the first quarter payment of city taxes and licenses for the year 2012 until March 31, 2012.
Councilor Caesar Distrito, Em Legaspi Ang and Roberto Rojas sponsored the approval of the request.
Carbon wrote Mayor Evelio Leonardia on February 28, 2012 requesting for an extension of the deadline, which the mayor endorsed.
Organic park,
restaurant launched
The RU Foundry recently opened its ecological organic park and restaurant in Brgy. Pahanocoy, Bacolod City, offering organic farming to the public.
Ramon Uy, Sr., owner and president of RU Foundry, said he decided to put an eco-organic park forlocal farmers.
“This park is designed for farmers to learn new techniques of farming and at the same time showing the public what it is like to have organic products,” Uy said.

Gov. Alfredo G. Marañon Jr. led the ceremonial turnover of the Backyard Broiler Project to 12 beneficiaries at the Gawad Kalinga, Sinigayan Village in Sagay City, yesterday.
The beneficiaries were also given equipment like feeders, waterers, sacks, and feeds and chick housing to raise the 45-day broilers.
Some beneficiaries had already received their chicks on Feb.2 and these will be ready for disposal by the second week of March, Anna Leah Silva, project development officer of Technology and Livelihood Development Center, said.
