Cops file raps vs.
6 for Ceneco heist

BY ADRIAN NEMES III

Charges for robbery-in-band were filed before the Bacolod City Prosecutor’s Office yesterday against six members of the Alferez Group who robbed the Central Negros Electric Cooperative of P3.6 million in cash two weeks ago.

The charges were filed against Gerlado Saniel “alias Gagang” and Roel Remedios, “alias Yoyong” both of Molave, Zamboanga del Sur, Richard Dagoman “alias Tangkad” of Tambulig, also in Zamboanga del Sur, Ruel Alvarez of Tangub City, Misamis Occidental, Reynaldo Bacolod “alias Toto” of Las Piñas City, and Joseph Calarmo of Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte, and six other unidentified men, City Police Director Senior Supt. Ricardo de la Paz said.

He said that among the evidence presented to strengthen the case against the suspects were the affidavits of the ten witnesses.

The firm’s assistant manager Edwin Montemayor filed the charges on behalf of CENECO before the office of City Prosecutor Gwendolyn Jimenea-Tiu.

De la Paz said they will wait for the release of the arrest warrants of the suspects, who, he said, belong to a break-away group of the Kuratong Baleleng Gang.

He said the suspect’s pictures will be posted in public places and at the official Facebook page of the BCPO to hasten their arrest.

The Board ofDirectors of CENECO has passed a resolution offering a cash reward of P300,000 to whoever could give information that will lead to the arrest of the suspects.

On March 2, 12 armed men entered the office of CENECO at about 9 a.m., disarmed the five security guards and took the money from the vault of the cash Division of the firm.*APN
