BINHI project set on June 5

The Energy Development Corporation and Oscar Lopez Foundation will launch the Rafael M. Salas-Binhi: Tree for the Future Project on June 5 during the International Environment Day by planting 200 tree seedlings of endangered premium species at the RMS Park in Bago City, Joy Valdez, RMS-Binhi project convener, said yesterday.

Valdez said the project focuses on biodiversity preservation at the species level that aims to secure and rescue endangered premium Philippine timber tree to ensure continuous production of these trees.

The 60 youth leaders who are members of the Youth Commitment for Sustainable Development Project of the University of St. La Salle-Institute for Negros Development will also take part in planting the seedlings, she said.

The project is in collaboration with the Bago City government, Rafael M. Salas Parks and Nature Center Foundation, and USLS-IND.*LTG
