Bomb scare
cancels HS classes
BY ADRIAN NEMES III

A bomb scare caused the cancellation of classes at the Domingo Lacson National High School in Brgy. Banago, Bacolod City, yesterday.

Station 3 chief, Senior Insp. Conrado Rances, said a teacher, whose name he did not disclose, found a note written on a notebook leaf at the building of the Reserve Officers Training Corps at about 7:30 a.m. that read: “may bomba sa loob ng eskuwelahan na sasabog sa loob ng 10 oras (there is a bomb inside the school which will explode in 10 hours)”

The note was from a group calling themselves Bangon Pilipinas (Rise Philippines), Rances said.

Station 3 policemen went to the DLNHS to check, but found nothing after almost four hours of search.

Rances said they believe the note was written by one of the students but they are still trying to verify what the real motive of the bomb scare was.

He said that to avoid panic among the students, teachers and parents, who had no idea about the bomb scare, the school administration only announced that their classes in the afternoon were suspended so they can conduct fogging in the classrooms as part of their anti-dengue drive.*APN
