Pusher sentenced to
life imprisonment

BY JUANCHO GALLARDE

A drug pusher was sentenced to life imprisonment, after being found guilty beyond reasonable doubt of selling shabu to a police poseur-buyer in Barangay Looc, Dumaguete City, Negros Occidental, two years ago.

Regional Trial Court Branch 34 presiding judge, Rosendo Bandal Jr., said that Roberto Sevillo used his eatery in Zone 2, Brgy. Looc as a front for selling shabu to users and other pushers, in violation of Section 5, Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

“The crime committed was aggravated by the fact that Sevillo himself was found positive for the use of drugs while he is penalized under the Revised Penal Code,” Bandal said in the 19-page decision dated November 13.*JG
