NORECO 2 GM named;
Board chairman resigns

BY JUANCHO GALLARDE

The Negros Oriental II Electric Cooperative Board elected Eunora Yen Sameon as its fulltime general manager effective today, and Board chairman James Fontelo tendered his resignation Wednesday.

Fontelo, however, clarified that his irrevocable resignation has nothing to do with the selection of Sameo, adding that he wants to give others the opportunity to be chair of the board.

Sameon, 58, is a certified public accountant, and has been an auditor, comptroller and internal audit manager of the electric cooperative. The two other applicants were Finance Department manager, Dionefred Macahig, who was acting GM for more than one year, and Chito Lozano, also of NORECO 2.

Fontelo is set for reelection in January next year for district 2, with director Lenny Joy Alviola for district 6, and Ma. Cherryl Nalam for district 8.

Board vice chair, Fe Marie Dicen, will assume the position vacated by Fontelo.*JG
