Body of fisherman
found in Cauayan
BY ADRIAN NEMES III

The bloated body of a fisherman who went missing Tuesday when his motorized boat capsized was found floating several meters off the shorelines of Cauayan, Negros Occidental, at about 1 p.m. Thursday by his colleagues, town police deputy chief, SPO4 Alvin Cuenca, said yesterday.

Jose Andy Nemecio, 40, was identified by his wife Joan when his body was brought to the shore.

Investigation showed that the MV Kipper 2 on which Nemecio and his companion Joemar Diaz, 28 were on board suddenly crossed the path of the MV Aqua King, owned by the Ace Fishing Corp. causing it to capsize

Diaz survived the collision while Nemecio went missing, Philippine Coast Guard-Bacolod chief, Lt. Cmdr. Domenador Senador, said.

Cauayan Vice Mayor Jerry Tabujara said the owner of MV Aqua King is willing to aid the family of Nemesio.

Meanwhile, another motorized boat collided with a passenger vessel about 3.5 kilometers off the Bacolod Real Estate Development Corporation Port at about 11 p.m. Thursday.

Senador said that LCT Archangel sea vessel bound for Dumangas port, Iloilo collided with MV Jun Von causing it to capsize.

The personnel of LCT Archangel rescued the crew of MV Jun Von identified as Federico Legada, Danilo Deviel and Dionesio Dela Torre and they are now safe.*APN
