Bacolod PESO preps for
Labor Day jobs fair

The Public Employment Service Office of Bacolod City will conduct two job fairs that will bring in local employers and representatives of recruitment agencies from abroad.

PESO-Bacolod is preparing for the nationwide jobs fair on May 1, Labor Day celebration and the Mega Jobs Fair on June 17 and 18, PESO head Moises de la Cruz said yesterday.

He said they are finalizing the list of overseas and local employers who will participate in the activity that bring in more job opportunities for Bacoleños and Negrenses.

Job seekers have to prepare their resumé, transcript of records, employment and training certificates, and applicants to overseas jobs must bring their passports for the overseas jobs offering.

May Castro, public relations officer of SM-Bacolod said the Labor Day jobs fair will be held at the Event Center of the mall with the theme “We Create Jobs.”

She said the Department of Labor and Employment has set an Early Registration Help Desk at the North Wing Lobby that will open tomorrow until Friday.

She said that the companies joining the activity include business process outsourcings, trading and manufacturing industries, food outlets, and SM affiliate companies.

Meanwhile, the Mega Job Fair in June will be held at the Government Center of the City bringing in 30 recruitment agencies for jobs abroad and 30 local companies, De la Cruz said.

Applicants can visit PESO at the 2 nd Floor of the City Hall Building at the downtown area for more information.

They can also fill out the skills registry forms available at PESO before the event to avoid delay, he added.*LTG
