Baby Jesus statue stolen
BY ADRIAN NEMES III

Not even the statue of the child Jesus was spared by thieves who stole it from a nativity scene displayed outside the compound of a businessman in Brgy. 39, Bacolod City, Tuesday.

Joemarie Sy told the police that he found the statue of the baby Jesus and the figurine of a sheep made from ceramics missing at about 3:30 a.m.

Station 6 commander, Chief Insp. Noel Polines said he believes that the thieves who stole the items from the nativity scene of Sy must be residents of the nearby areas.

Polines said there is a closed Circuit Television Camera outside Sy's compound which could have captured the faces of the thieves but the businessman has not yet reviewed it.

Sy urged whoever took the figure of the child Jesus to return it since Yuletide is being held annually to commemorate his birth.*APN
