The Federation of Bacolod City Drivers Association and Action Inc. is appealing to the Bacolod City government to provide office space for the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board at City Hall or any property of the city can provide.
FEBACDA president Elizabeth Katalbas and Action Inc. chairman Teddy Macainan wrote to Councilor Dindo Ramos, on February 21,2012 that the plan of the city government to make LTFRB vacate its office at the City , Health Compound, will force them to transfer to Iloilo City.
“We would like to request your office to provide them a space at the City Hall or in any property of the city government since they play a major role in the transport industry in the city,” they said.
It would be more convenient for the operators in Bacolod City, as well as in Negros Occidental if the operation of LTFRB is retained in Bacolod City, they also said.
The transfer of its operation to Iloilo, will entail a lot of expenses on the part of the stakeholders in the transport industry who have to travel to Iloilo to facilitate their documents, they added.*CGS. back
