Toyota-Bacolod continued its winning streak as the squad claimed its fifth victim, Boston Finance, in a 97-75 victory Monday night in the 1st PROBAC/LNA7 Invitational Basketball Tournament played at the West Negros University gym.

Despite falling behind by a point in the first quarter, Toyota went on to dominate the next three quarters to turn back Boston Finance.

Boston took the lead 24-23 in the opening quarter behind the nine-point production from Jason Yap and Barsage Sekhon’s eight points, while Jojo Patias anchored Toyota with 10 points as teammate Allan Jaena had six points.

Sharp Aquos rules
Suppliers bowlfest

Sharp Aquos reigned in the premiere division, as Alimon Steel and Condura ASSFBI Ladies ruled in their respective category of the Suppliers Friendship Cup Open Trio Bowling Championship at the New Top’s Millennium Plaza Alley in Bacolod City.

Mulo Car Aircon of Romulo Ramos topped the men’s rated consolation contest, while Sanyo, anchored by Melchor Samillano dominated the non-rated division. Kami Mga Gwapa captured the title in the women’s bracket.

Teaming up for Sharp Aquos, Edgar De Leon, Nonoy Hulguin, Matt Gaudite and Rey “The Spitfire” Bala-an accounted for 365 pinfalls while Kami Mga Hubin of Wilson Casas, Janggo Jarina and Dodong Paran scored 345 points to settle for first runner-up in the class A division.

YBAC turn-over
rites set July 7

The new set of officers of Your Basketball Athletic Association (YBAC) will officially receive their mandate on July 7 during the turn over ceremony set in a resort in Hinoba-an, a press release from the group said.

Led by its new president Bong Ibe, the 2012-2013 YBAC officers will supervise the staging of the club’s 3rd Conference that will start on the third week of this month at the West Negros University Gym.

Joining Ibe in the new set of officers are: Edwin Fregil, vice-president; Jake Azucena, secretary; Pete Apura, treasurer; Narsing Galang, auditor); Board of Directors – Nonoy Tan, Nonoy Pacheco, Joenel Anico and Rene Villacanas; Rolly Buenaflor, ex-officio; Jun Ballesteros, chairman, Membership Committee; and Membership Committee members –Nelson Siaco, Danny Chua and Noel Morancil.
