The Bacolod City Police Office, and Senior Supt. Ricardo de la Paz have been nominated in the national search for best City Police Station and Senior Police Commissioned Officer of the year for operations by Camp Crame, Senior Supt. Manuel Felix, Police Regional Office-6 deputy director for Administration, said yesterday.
Felix said they are not surprised that BCPO was nominated because of its accomplishments in the accounting of wanted personalities, anti-illegal drugs and anti-illegal gambling drives. He said BCPO also excelled in the field of Police Community Relations and has a high crime efficiency rate.
As for De la Paz, Felix said, he had a lot of accomplishments in anti-crime drive in Bacolod City Police in less than one year of being the city police director. This will become his edge over the other candidates for the best Senior Police Commissioned Officer.
Aside from de la Paz, Chief Insp. Jay Malong of the Iloilo City Police Office has been nominated for best Junior Police Commissioned Officer in the Philippines.
Kalibo Municipal Police Station will, meanwhile, compete in the best MPS category while PRO-6 has also been nominated for best Regional Police Office in the Philippines.
The Barangay Peace Action Keeping Teams of Iloilo City and New Washington, Aklan, were nominated for best BPATs in highly-urbanized city and rural categories.
The winners will be announced at Camp Crame on August 8, during the 111th Police Service Anniversary Celebration.*APN
