Guv gives Bantayan Park P3M

Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. gave a check for P3 million to Bago City Mayor Ramon Torres, yesterday, for the Bantayan Park located in Brgy. Bantayan, Bago City, one of Bago City’s tourist attractions.

The part has been a venue of the various city activities, a press release from the Capitol said. It features the famous boulevard of the city, the Bago City showroom, and creatively designed pavilions of each of the 24 barangays of the city featuring their locally-made products, it added.

Bago City government plans to put up permanent structures at the park and to use the assistance from the provincial government for the backfilling of its underdeveloped portion.

Marañon said the tourism industry is a big help to the city’s economy and has a multiplier effect on small businesses in the barangays.

He also consulted them on the projects needed for their agricultural productivity to ensure rice sufficiency in the province, as Bago City is one of its biggest rice producers.

Also present at the ceremony were Vice Mayor Nicholas Yulo, city councilors, and Provincial Agriculturist Igmedio Tabianan.*
