As part of Silay City livelihood programs, ten piglets were given to ten selected beneficiaries in the city’s covered court recently by Mayor Jose Montelibano and livelihood department head, Joserito Lapuos, a press release from Silay said.

Lapu-os said the initiative will alleviate the increasing poverty rate in the community, and added that the program is continuous.

The press release also said that the city is supportive of the Negros First program of Gov. Alfredo Maranon Jr.

Lapu-os also appealed to the public for cooperation, and to help eradicate poverty in the city, the press release added.*
