Class '82 eyes
title in bowlfest

Batch '82 lead in Class A, as Batch '70 and Batch '95 are the teams to beat in category B and C in today's final showdown of the Negros Occidental High School General Alumni Homecoming Inter-class Bowlfest For Unity 2012 at the Super Lanes of the Goldenfield Commercial Complex in Bacolod City.

The leading Batch '82 anchored by Mae Traifalgar led the Class A bracket in the elimination phase with a total score 17,515 pinfalls followed by defending champion Class '73 anchored by Felipe Boy Romero Jr. with 17,423.

In the first game, it will be the younger Batch '97 headed by Karl Barbosa against Class '66 led by Edgar Baldonado.

The winner will meet C'73 for the right to challenge the top seed for the tournament's crown.

The final four in category B is composed of Class '70 led by Bonnie Ta-ala followed by Iran Pielago's group Class '85.

The other contenders in bracket B are Batch ‘80 chaired by Julian Raca and Leah Uy's Class '71.

The two will clash in the first game to be able to face Class '85 in the semi-final contest.

Top seed class '95 headed by Essho Garcia took the twice-to-beat advantage in bracket C by topping the elimination phase in their division.

Class '62 led by Jun Garrucho, Team 2000-up led by Rommel Galvan and Team '75 Sec by Nerio Regollo completed the team. T'2000 tangles with T'75 in the opening match at 4 p.m.

Class '66 and Batch '84 holds the team's highest single and triple records with 546 and 1,583 apiece.

The individual record holders are C'73 starter Hernand Garciniego in the men's highest pinning with 97, while his teammate Felipe Boy Romero registered the highest single and triple with 154 and 367, respectively.

It was Ronela Cordero of Batch '89 in the women's highest pinning with 92, and teammate Devonne Fernandez in triple with 343.

Non-winning entries will vie for the consolation prize at 3 p.m.*HLG
