The raids conducted by the Bacolod City Police Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group on two suspected drug dens yesterday resulted in the arrest of 13 persons, including a casual employee of the city government.

CAIDSTOG chief, Senior Insp. Niel Exaltado, said they conducted a buy-bust operation against Juvy Dacumos, “alias Tata”, 30, of Purok Sigay in Brgy. 2, at about 11:30 a.m., on information that she is into the illegal drugs trade.

Exaltado said Dacumos, who was previously arrested by CAIDSTOG, then led by Supt. Santiago Rapiz, months ago, was apprehended after she handed a small sachet of suspected shabu in exchange for P500 to a police poseur buyer outside her house.

CAIDSTOG operatives then swooped down on the residence of Dacumos and caught Henry Cebugal, 27, of Purok Sabes in Brgy. Villamonte; Mark Anthony Jimenez, 38, of Brgy. Handumanan; and Avelino Casalda, 33, of Purok Luhod-luhod , Brgy. Mandalagan, all of Bacolod City.

Casalda, employed at the Department of Public Services of the Bacolod City government, admitted using illegal drugs to be “energized”.

Aluminum foils with visible traces of suspected shabu, two disposable lighters, and two candles were recovered from the house of Dacumos during the raid, a police report said.

Exaltado said they also raided the nearby house of Norberto Medel, 66, on information from Dacumos that men were having pot sessions inside.

Arrested were Rex Baylon, 49, of Brgy. Ma-ao, Bago City; Joselito Idala, 19, of Brgy. Cansilayan in Murcia town, Negros Occidental; Albert Mombate, 36, of Luzuriaga Street; Eduardo dela Torre, 24, of Brgy. Villamonte; Emilio Sing, 40, of Brgy. 17; Roberto Carasaquit, 29, of Brgy. 9; Victor Sagon, 23, of Brgy. 14; and John Psalm Sebullen, 23, of Brgy. 10, Bacolod City, police reports show.

An improvised tooter with visible traces of suspected shabu, three disposable lighters, aluminum foils and matches were seized from the residence of Medel, the police said.

Medel admitted that his house was being used as drug den in exchange for P5 to P10, and that he has been doing this for almost two months now because he needs to feed his grandchildren.

Senior Supt. Ricardo de la Paz, Bacolod police director, said their anti-illegal drug campaign in Brgy. 2 will continue, as the area is listed as “seriously-affected”, both by the PNP and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.

De la Paz said he has warned drug pushers and users in the area to stop their nefarious activities.

Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia also warned city employees that once they are caught being involved in illegal drug activities, they will immediately be terminated.*APN
