Pacquiao-Marquez II
‘almost a done deal'
BY CEDELF TUPAS

The wait had to end some time for boxing fans wanting Manny Pacquiao of the Philippines and Juan Manuel Marquez of Mexico mixing it up for the second time.

Pacquiao-Marquez II “is almost a done deal”, according to the Filipino boxer's associate, Rex “Wakee” Salud.

"Manny is happy with the purse he is getting for this fight so the fight will push through," Salud told www.philboxing.com .

The boxing website also said a press conference to announce Pacquiao-Marquez II deal is scheduled on Dec. 20 in Los Angeles to be attended by Golden Boy Promotions and Top Rank executives.

Bob Arum and HBO had earlier set a March 15, 2008 date for Pacquiao's next fight.

Pacquiao and Marquez fought to a controversial draw on May 8, 2004 in Las Vegas . The hard-punching Filipino knocked down Marquez in the opening-round but allowed the Mexican to recover in the later rounds.*CPT
