IN PULUPANDAN
Harassment
complaint lodged
BY GILBERT BAYORAN

This time, it is the Mondia family complaining of being harassed by the alleged followers of businessman Magdaleno Peņa.

Brgy. Capt. Nelita Mondia reported to the police yesterday that her house and that of her neighbors, were enclosed with cyclone and barbed wire fences in Brgy. Zone 1, Pulupandan, by a group of persons led by Joey Yonque, alleged followers of Peņa. Earlier, Elenia Carpentero Yonque, of Sitio Bagua, Brgy. Zone 4A, Pulupandan, also complained to the police that she was harassed by Mayor Luis Mondia

Yonque claimed that Mondia uprooted the fence that was on their land, causing the loss of five goats, five pigs and 11 chickens.

SPO2 Orlando de la Peņa, Pulupandan PNP Desk Officer, yesterday said that Mondia, chairman of Brgy. Zone 1, also claimed that cyclone and barbed wires were also put in some foot walks in the barangay, which is being claimed by Peņa to be part of their property.

De la Peņa said policemen were dispatched to the barangay to verify the claims of Mondia.

Mondia, who denied that he harassed Yunque, said residents of Brgy. Zone 4A had complained that the road had been fenced off.

The families of Peņa and Mondia reportedly are fielding candidates for the Pulupandan mayoralty post, in the May 14 elections.*GPB
