LAWYER SAYS
Arles slay case remains strong
BY CARLA GOMEZ

Lawyer Frank Britanico, brother-in-law of slain Judge Henry Arles, said yesterday that they continue to have a strong case against the accused in his murder.

He said the retraction of the three Revolutionary Proletarian Army-Alex Boncayao Brigade members of their admissions to the crime, and the alibis bared by their two other companions who surfaced Friday, are not enough to weaken their case.

On July 27, the NBI filed a complaint against Ilog Mayor John Paul Alvarez, his aide Emmanuel Medez, and RPA-ABB members Jessie Daguia, Alejandro Capunong and Eddie Fortunado – who are under NBI custody in Manila, and Marvin Salve and Gerald Tabujara who are not detained for the murder of Arles in Ilog town on April 24. moremoremore

MANILA -- Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical, Services, Administration (PAGASA) administrator Nathaniel Servando said indications are high that the El Niño phenomenon will likely develop and affect the country within the next few months.

"Atmospheric circulation in the tropical Pacific continue to be near-normal in July 2012, although a persistent warning in the tropical Pacific Ocean trending towards an El Niño condition have been observed since June," he emphasized.

Servando added that warmer sea surface temperature strengthened in the central and eastern equatorial Pacific ocean, a typical development stage of an El Niño.moremoremore
