Groom-to-be slain,
sex organ cut off
BY GILBERT BAYORAN
Farm worker Teofilo Sakite was scheduled to get married to a 20-year-old woman in Silay City, Negros Occidental, on Aug. 18

Sakite, 52, however, was brutally killed Tuesday night in Brgy. Guimbalaon Silay City. He suffered a broken skull and slash wounds in the neck. Worse, his sexual organ was cut off and placed beside his cadaver, investigations of the Silay police showed.

Supt. Rosauro Francisco, Silay police chief, yesterday said Teofilo had impregnated a woman, who is the daughter of the first husband of a certain Shirley, whose second husband, is the cousin of the victim.

Francisco, however, said the problem was amicably settled between the parties, and the wedding was scheduled on Aug. 18.

Investigations of the Silay police, however, showed that Sakite and the parents of the woman he had impregnated, were on their way home Tuesday night, when they were waylaid by an unidentified person.

Francisco said the couple, who was invited yesterday by the police for questioning at the Silay police station headquarters, claimed that Sakite was left behind, when they scampered away for their own safety.

Francisco said that during investigations, they noted inconsistencies in the statements of the couple. He, however, said that he has no choice but to release them yesterday, as there is no witness who could link them to the crime.*GPB
