Jury still deliberating
on UNO-R petition

The Jury of Appeals created by the Negros Occidental Private Schools Sports Cultural Educational Association to discuss the petition filed by University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos on the Game 2 forfeiture in men’s basketball, has yet to come out with its decision.

In a statement released to the media, the NOPSSCEA named not only three but seven members of the jury. They are: Edwin Madlangbayan, Roger Banzuela, Rosario de Guzman, Sarah Ortega, Nilda Monge, Crispina Diego, and Ma. Del Pilar Limas.

Limas told the DAILY STAR Monday that she had begged off from joining the jury due to prior commitments, while de Guzman said she was not able to attend the meeting as she already had an appointment with the Silay Institute staff members.

Silverado regains
lead in bowlfest

Silverado ASSFBI still leads in the premiere category, as Bago City Bowlers/NPBC and St. Joseph –La Salle Adventurers in the non-rated and women’s division of the ongoing “Suppliers Friendship Cup” Open Trio Bowling Tournament at the New Top’s Millennium Plaza Alley In Bacolod City.

The Cecil Silverio-led ASSFBI squads averaging 686 points per game, top the overall standing with a five-round output of 2,744.

The current No.1 is now second in the fourth.

BTTHS woodpushers
prepare for reg’l meet

After successfully defending their title in the NOPSSCEA this year, Bacolod Tay Tung High School elementary boys and girls’ chess teams are getting ready for the Negros Occidental provincial meet set this December.

BTTHS chess head coach Jessie Sanchez the high school girls chess team, that claimed the championship in the NOPSSCEA, and the high school boys team that finished first runner-up behind Mansilingan Christian Academy, are also preparing for the competition that will select the province’s representatives to the regional meet set next year.

Members of the BTTHS elementary girls’ chess team are: Krizzia Ricci Nepomuceno, Kate Nicholle Sadje, Cherry Catherine Ng, Era Samantha Gauma, Shakira Lyza Kee, and Marian Hannah Bedayos.
