Negros Occidental Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. recently swore in the new officers of the Association of Technical Institutions in Negros Occidental during the 18 th anniversary of the Technical Education Skills Development Authority Negros Occidental, at the SM Event Center in Bacolod City.
Marañon urged the officers to work together with TESDA and push for the conversion of the institution to a national department to fully promote the advancement of technical and vocational education in the country.
The officers are Kathryne Orcena of North Negros College, president; Teresa Villanueva of La Salletech, executive vice president; Ma. Cristina Orbecido of the Negros Occidental Language and Information Technology, vice president for Central Negros; Rudy Abriola of Technological Foundation Institute, vice president for South Negros;
Phoebe Baluarte of Universal School of Applied Technology, vice president for North Negros; Marites Torillo of JJ Orola Sr. Memorial Foundation, secretary; Marose Sellado of STI College Bacolod, treasurer; Melanie Torres of Sagay Computer Institute, PIO; George Zulueta of West Negros University, auditor; and Benjamin Ortega of Capitol Institute of Technology, ex-oficio member.
