The Department of Health has ordered the suspension of the Chief Administrative Officer of the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City for allegedly falsifying his daily time record.

The DOH has also directed him and six others to file counter affidavits for separate charges recommended against them.

The bodies of two security guards who reportedly jumped into a river to avoid a group of armed men chasing them, were found in rivers of Kabankalan, Negros Occidental, and Mabinay, Negros Oriental, police said.

The decomposing body of George Manigos was found yesterday in the Ilog-Hilabangan river in Sitio Pangyasan, Brgy. Tabugon, Kabankalan City, while that of Hernani Ilana had been discovered on Tuesday in the Talacdan river in Mabinay, Negros Oriental, Chief Inspector Calixto Mabugat said.

Mabugat said that on July 7, Manigos, Ilana and their unidentified companion who were guarding a disputed property in Brgy. Tabugon, Kabankalan City, were chased by six armed men.moremoremore

Rains trigger landslide,
houses destroyed

Heavy rains hit Sipalay City yesterday triggering a landslide that rendered the highway impassable for almost seven hours.

The rains also caused flooding in eight barangays, affecting 1,543 families, destroying four houses and damaging 24 others in Sipalay, Negros Occidental Provincial Social Welfare Officer Liane Garcia said yesterday.

The landslide hit Barangay Mambaroto, Sipalay, about 2 kilometers from the city proper, but no one was hurt, Sipalay Mayor Soledad Montilla said.moremoremore
