Supreme Court Chief Justice Renato Corona yesterday condemned the murder of Kabankalan Regional Trial Court Judge Hernry Arles in Ilog town Tuesday night and called on the police to immediately hunt down his assassins.

Supreme Court spokesperson and Court Administrator Midas Marquez told the media the chief justice also ordered him to extend the necessary assistance to the family of Arles.

Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan yesterday also called on the Philippine National Police, the Department of Interior and Local Government, the Department of Justice, and the National Bureau of Investigation to quickly resolve the murder of Arles.

Police pursuing some leads

Police probers are pursuing leads on the of possible suspect or suspects in the ambush-assassination of Kabankalan Regional Trial Court Judge Henry Arles Tuesday night in Ilog, Negros Occidental.

Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. who expressed his condemnation of the incident, yesterday ordered Senior Supt. Allan Guisihan, provincial police director, to investigate thoroughly the killing of Arles.

Marañon, however, said he was informed by Guisihan that they already have some leads in their investigations.moremoremore

Dizon succumbs
to colon cancer

Bro.   Rolando Ramos Dizon, 67, succumbed to an almost 10-year battle with colon cancer at the D e La Salle Health Sciences Institute   in Dasmarines, Cavite, surrounded by family and friends at 7:09 last night , his brother-in-law, former Bacolod Rep. Monico Puentevella said.

Bacolod Bishop Vicente Navarra said “I believe he died as a good and faithful Christian Brother true to his sacred vows and commitments in life.”

“May he now intercede for us before the throne of our Heavenly Father. As I offer mass for his blessed soul, I also pray for his bereaved family that the Good Lord will console them in their hour of bereavement. May his soul rest in peace,” the bishop said. moremoremore
